Railways suspends NTPC and level 1 exams amidst protests

Big news for the aspirants of Railway NTPC Exam and Level 1 (Group D) Exams. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has suspended the second level examinations of Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) – Computer Based Test (CBT 2) and Group D i.e. level 1 examinations of RRC Level 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT 1). Both the recruitment exams were to be conducted during February 2022. According to the update shared by news agency PTI, the official spokesperson of the Railway Recruitment Board informed that the conduct of both the examinations has been suspended due to the protests by the candidates.

The results of CBT 1 conducted in seven stages at the level under the prescribed selection process for the selection of eligible candidates out of more than 1 crore candidates applied for more than 35 thousand posts of Group C (NTPC) by Railway Recruitment Board, recently held on 14 January. were announced in 2022. There is a major opposition to the candidates regarding the results declared by RRB. The demand of the candidates is to declare the unique roll numbers for the various posts. However, along with this demand, the clarification of all the reasons of the candidates was recently given by a release on 18 January 2022.

What is the reason for the opposition of the candidates? – RRB Group D (Level 1) Exam

Over 7 lakh candidates were shortlisted for the around 35000 posts for Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Level 2 exams. However, immediately after the results were declared candidates a large number of candidates protested in Bihar over alleged inaccurate results. The protests turned violent prompting the authorities to issue a warning notice to candidates to refrain from public property damaging activities.
