5 lakh saplings to be planted on Harela 2025

This year, Uttarakhand is going to make a record on plantation on Harela festival. On this day, more than 05 lakh saplings will be planted in a single day across the state. Out of which a target of planting 03 lakh saplings has been set in Garhwal division and 02 lakh saplings in Kumaon division. For this, all preparations have been completed at the government level. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this time this plantation will be organized on the theme of Celebrate Harela festival, repay the debt of Mother Earth and ‘ek ped maa ke naam’. Programs will be organized under this festival throughout the month.

Participation of villagers to school students and various departments will also be ensured in the success of this plantation campaign. For this, a letter has also been written to all the District Magistrates by Principal Secretary Ramesh Kumar Sundhashu. Harela festival is organized every year in the month of July in Uttarakhand. This time this festival will be celebrated on 16th July. This festival is dedicated to nature. In such a situation, to ensure the participation of the general public on this festival, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the officials to organize plantation on a large scale in the entire state. Under which a target has been set to plant five lakh saplings in the entire state.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is very close to nature. In such a situation, it becomes the responsibility of all of us to conserve the environment. In accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Modi, this plantation campaign will be run on a large scale in the entire state under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign along with Harela festival. Under this campaign, plantation will be done in public places, forests, rivers, banks of gaaderas, schools, colleges, departmental premises, city parks, residential premises. In which the participation of local public representatives, students, departmental personnel, NCC, NSS as well as the general public will be ensured.
