The Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana will be implemented to identify families residing in Uttarakhand. During a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dhami on Wednesday, the cabinet agreed to implement the Devbhoomi Family Scheme to identify families residing in Uttarakhand. Under the Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana, families residing in Uttarakhand will be identified and a Family ID will be created. All important and public welfare schemes implemented in the state will be integrated with the beneficiary family ID, ensuring direct and appropriate benefits for beneficiaries.
In fact, the Uttarakhand government had decided to create a Family Identity Card in the state in 2022, similar to Haryana, to facilitate easy access to public welfare schemes. It also allows for concrete action to be taken on complaints of fraudulent schemes or repeated benefits being granted to a few families. To ensure the speedy implementation of the Family Identity Card Scheme, the Planning Department formed a separate cell in 2024 and signed a contract with a private company. Additionally, a portal has been created in this regard through the NIC.
Under the proposed Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana in Uttarakhand, a detailed database of families residing in the state will be created and they will be assigned unique family identification numbers. Beneficiary plans will then be attached to the family IDs for identified families, ensuring they receive the correct benefits of government schemes. Furthermore, beneficiary families will be able to view all schemes with a single click. It will also show how many schemes the beneficiaries have already benefited from and how many more they can still avail.
Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli stated that under the Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana, a unique ID will be created for all families living in Uttarakhand. This will help map the families receiving government benefits using this ID, preventing duplication and ensuring easier delivery of government schemes to those in need. He explained that the state government’s policy is to ensure that 100% of beneficiaries receive benefits from the schemes, and this scheme will prove to be very effective in this regard. Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli stated that under this initiative, all families living in the state will be registered. This will also identify eligible beneficiaries and deliver the schemes to them.
