Chief Minister recommends CBI inquiry into Ankita Bhandari case

Chief Minister Dhami, in recognition of the request and sentiments of the parents of the late Ankita Bhandari, has recommended a CBI investigation into the Ankita Bhandari case.

The Chief Minister clarified that the government’s objective has been, and will continue to be, to ensure fair, transparent, and sensitive justice from beginning to end.

The Chief Minister stated that all the accused involved in the case were promptly arrested, and the state government ensured effective and vigorous advocacy, resulting in no accused being granted bail during the investigation and trial. Following a thorough investigation by the SIT, a charge sheet was filed against the accused, and upon completion of the trial, the accused were sentenced to life imprisonment by the lower court.

Chief Minister Dhami stated that this entire episode is clear evidence that the state government has ensured justice with fairness, transparency, and firmness from beginning to end. Furthermore, separate FIRs have been filed in connection with some audio clips circulating on social media in recent days, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Chief Minister stated unequivocally that the government’s intentions are completely clear and no facts or evidence will be ignored. He reiterated that the state government has been committed to ensuring justice in the past and will continue to do so with full determination and sensitivity to ensure justice for late Ankita Bhandari.
