DA increment for these government employees of Uttarakhand

There is good news for the government employees of Uttarakhand. The Pushkar Singh Dhami government has increased the DA of the employees getting the sixth and fifth pay scale of the state government, autonomous bodies, undertakings. Finance Secretary Dr. V. Shanmugam on Friday issued orders to increase DA from 9 to 16 percent.

According to the Finance Secretary, the employees getting the benefit of the sixth pay scale are eligible for 230 percent DA of the basic salary from July 1, 2023. Now from January 1, 2024, it will increase by nine percent to 239 percent per month. Similarly, the DM of the personnel coming under the fifth pay scale has also been increased from 427 percent to 443 percent from January 1, 2024.

The Finance Secretary said that this order will also apply to the teachers and employees of educational institutions running with government grants under the Education Department, Technical Education Department. The DA hike will not automatically apply to the High Court judges, Public Service Commission chairman, members, local bodies and public sector undertakings etc. Every department will issue an order for DA hike at its own level.

More than five thousand personnel and pensioners benefited

The state government had increased the dearness allowance of regular, full-time and work-charged employees of the state’s government, aided educational and technical educational institutions and urban local bodies taking the seventh pay scale by four percent in the month of March.

According to the government order, the arrears of revised dearness allowance from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024 will be paid in cash. From July 1, 2024, dearness allowance will be paid along with regular salary. This will increase the monthly salary of the personnel concerned by about Rs 1000 to Rs 8000.
