Doors of Gangotri Dham temple closed for the winter season

The Chardham Yatra 2025 is nearing its conclusion. Today at 11:30 am, the doors of the Temple in Gangotri were closed for the winter. Upon closing, the temple resounded with chants of Mother Ganga. Mukhba is also ready to welcome Mother Ganga.
On Bhaiya Dooj, October 23rd, the doors of the temple in Yamunotri will be closed for the winter at 12:30 pm. After this, the festive idol of Mother Yamuna will be seen in Kharsali village.
It is worth noting that on the day of Annakut (Govardhan Puja) in the month of Kartik, the festive palanquin of Mother Ganga will depart for its winter residence in Mukhba village.
During this yatra season, 1,402,128 pilgrims have arrived at both shrines. This includes 6,44,366 pilgrims to Yamunotri and 7,57,762 pilgrims to Gangotri.
