The weather in the Uttarakhand hills took a turn on Friday morning. The first snowfall of the season was witnessed in several high-altitude areas, including Mussoorie, in the early hours of the day. As temperatures dropped after light rain, the hills, roads, and cedar trees of Mussoorie were covered in a blanket of white snow. Mussoorie trended on social media today as a result. Meanwhile, Dehradun and other lower-lying areas experienced heavy rainfall throughout the day.
Snowfall brings joy to Mussoorie and surrounding areas
Intermittent snowfall continued in Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, Chakrata, Auli, Gangotri, Tehri, and surrounding high-altitude regions. The landscape around Mussoorie’s Company Garden, Kempty Falls Road, and Mall Road was completely transformed by the layer of snow. Locals and tourists alike were seen enjoying the weather.
While the first snowfall of the season has raised hopes for a boost in the tourism business, the administration has appealed to people and tourists to remain vigilant. The PWD and NH authorities are already on alert to clear the roads of snow.
