Haridwar Elmas win UPL 2025

In a thrilling final of the Uttarakhand Premier League T20 Season 2 (UPL 2025), Haridwar Elmas defeated Nainital Tigers by 4 wickets to become the champions. Nainital lost in the UPL final for the second consecutive year.

Haridwar Elmas became the champions of UPL 2025

Nainital Tigers, batting first, scored 148 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing the target, Haridwar lost 6 wickets to become the champions of UPL Season 2. S. Gupta scored an unbeaten 15 runs in 5 balls, including two sixes, to help the team win the final.

Nainital Tigers did not have a good start

Batting first in the final, Nainital Tigers lost their opening batsman at the total score of 15 runs. D. Singh showed some aggression but was dismissed for 12 runs off 6 balls. Nainital suffered a second setback at the score of 27. Opener A. Mahajan also departed after scoring just 2 runs. Raj Namala and B. Lalwani added 29 runs for the third wicket. Raj Namala was dismissed for 29 off 20 balls. The team’s score was then 56.

Nainital scored 148 runs.

B. Lalwani batted very slowly, scoring 35 runs off 42 balls before retiring out. Had Shashwat Dangwal not scored 52 runs off 41 balls, Nainital Tigers would not have reached 148. Haridwar’s P. Bhati bowled brilliantly, taking 2 wickets for just 16 runs in his 4 overs.

Chasing a target of 149, Haridwar suffered their first setback with just 1 run onboard. H. Soni departed without even opening his account. Kunal Chandela had just started the team’s march towards the target with a quickfire 33 off 19 balls, only to be dismissed by Kumar Saini in the sixth over. P. Khanduri then departed after scoring 6 off 14 balls, giving Nainital Tigers a moment of hope.

From there, Rathod and S. Chauhan put on a 35-run partnership to keep Haridwar in the match. Rathod was dismissed for 17 off 22 balls at 78.

With the score at 129, Haridwar lost their sixth wicket in the form of Dangwal. Now, they needed 20 runs off just nine balls. In such a situation, S. Gupta kept his composure, scoring an unbeaten 15 off five balls with two sixes in the final over to make his team the champions of UPL Season 2.
