Heavy rain alert issued for today in eight districts including Dehradun and Nainital

The Ministry of Earth Sciences has issued a flood warning along with heavy rains in eight states of Uttarakhand. It has been said that there is a possibility of flash floods in Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh on Thursday. After which the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority has sent a warning to the concerned districts and asked them to be alert.
Orange alert for rain in four districts
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Nainital. There are chances of heavy rains along with strong winds in these districts. Apart from this, a yellow alert has been issued in other districts of Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with strong winds in all the districts. Due to this, the weather will be pleasant in the entire state. At the same time, it rained in many parts of the state including Doon on Wednesday as well. Meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal said that the rain will continue continuously in the coming days.
Doon’s temperature drops by 6.2 degrees
The spell of rain continues in Doon. Due to rain, the maximum temperature of Doon fell by 6.2 degrees on Wednesday. Whereas, the minimum temperature increased by 0.4 degrees to 26 degrees. In Dehradun, the temperature has been continuously falling for the last several days. This has given relief to the people from the heat. Meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal said that 1.3 mm of rain was recorded in various parts of Doon on Wednesday. The sequence of rain will continue in Doon in the future as well.
33 routes closed due to debris after rain in the state
33 routes are closed due to debris after rain in the state. According to the State Emergency Operations Center, the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway is closed for big vehicles due to debris in Pinola Ghat ahead of Joshimath. Apart from this, 24 PMGSY and six Public Works Department routes are also closed.
