Apple launches iPhone 16e

Tech company Apple has launched the new smartphone iPhone 16e in India on Wednesday (February 19). This is the cheapest model of the iPhone series 16. The smartphone has a bionic A18 chipset same as the iPhone 16. Apart from this, the phone will also get a 6.1-inch XDR display and a battery with 26 hours of backup.
The iPhone 16e has Apple’s first in-house modem ‘Apple C1’. The company has launched it in the market with three storage options – 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Its starting price is Rs 59,900. Pre-booking of the smartphone for customers in India will start from 6:30 pm IST on February 21 and delivery will start from February 28.
iPhone 16e: Design
The design of the iPhone 16e is similar to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series, but some changes have been made in it. The phone has been given Apple’s signature flat-edge design, which gives it a premium and modern look. Its frame is made of aerospace-grade aluminum, which makes it feel light and strong in the hand.
The phone comes with the action button given in the company’s iPhone 15 Pro, which can be customized. A single camera is given on its back panel. However, it will not get the camera control and dynamic island given in the iPhone 16 series. The phone will be available in two color options – black and white.
iPhone 16e: Specifications
Display: The iPhone 16e has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, which works at 60Hz refresh rate and has a peak brightness of 1200 nits. Ceramic Shield protection has been given for the security of the display.
Processor: For performance, the phone has an A18 chipset, which was also seen in the company’s latest smartphone series 16 and 16 Plus.
Camera: For photography, a 48MP fusion rear single lens has been provided on the back panel of the device. At the same time, a 12MP camera is available on the front of the phone for selfie and video calling.
Software: The phone works out-of-the-box on the company’s latest operating system iOS 18.
Battery and Charging: Apple has not given exact information about the battery capacity, but the company claims that it can be charged up to 50% in 30 minutes with an adapter of 20W or more. It supports up to 26 hours of video playback and up to 90 hours of audio playback.
Other Features: IP68 dust and water resistance, USB Type-C port and Apple Intelligence.
