This year rain is troubling people a lot in Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has once again issued a warning of heavy rain. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding rain in the state between August 29 and September 1, 2025. Possibility of lightning

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in some parts of the state between August 29 and September 2. During this time, there may also be chances of lightning along with thunder. That is why people need to be more careful. The weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Udham singh Nagar and
Pithoragarh districts on August 28. While an orange alert has been issued for Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on August 29.

At the same time, the Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to avoid traveling in hilly areas during heavy rains. Because during this time the risk of landslides increases significantly. Often the landslides and rock falls occur in heavy rains.

A total of 1077.6 mm of rain has occurred in Uttarakhand since June 1, 2025. Whereas normally the state should have received 944.8 mm of rain during this period. That is, 14% more rain has occurred so far in this monsoon season. But if we look at this thing in terms of rainfall in a month, then normally 350.02 mm of rain should have occurred till now. Whereas in the month of August, 487 mm of rain has occurred so far. That is, 39% more rain than normal has occurred this month.
