Kedarnath heli booking window to open from September 10
The fare of heli service for Kedarnath Dham has become expensive. Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has increased the fare of heli service by 45.86 percent. The new fare rates will be applicable on the heli service to be operated from September 15, 2025.
The operation of Kedarnath heli service started on May 2, 2025 this year. Initially, the operation of the heli service was affected due to helicopter accidents in Uttarkashi and Kedar Valley, after which it was stopped. Now booking will start on IRCTC website from September 10 for the second phase of heli service starting from September 15.
A 10-member committee constituted under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli has prepared a blueprint of SOP for safety and flight standards in Kedarnath heli service. After the permission of the government, the heli service will be operated as per the new SOP from September 15. UCADA CEO Ashish Chauhan said that due to less number of daily shuttle flights and seats in helicopter service operated from Guptkashi, Sirsi, Phata for Kedarnath, UCADA has given permission to increase the fare.
