“Labs on Wheels” mobile science lab project will be started in four districts- Chief Secretary

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi has given instructions for regular monitoring of the project “Labs on Wheels” mobile science lab project through dashboard. She has instructed the Director General of Education to issue instructions to all schools in this regard. CS Mrs. Radha Raturi, while reviewing the project “Labs on Wheels” mobile science lab, which strengthens science laboratories in schools in rural and remote mountainous areas of the state and connects science and education, has given instructions to operate it in Champawat, Almora, Dehradun and Pauri in the first phase. She has given instructions to specially encourage girls for science education under this project. The government has released an amount of Rs. 5 crore for the project “Labs on Wheels” mobile science lab. Mobile science labs will be operated under the Labs on Wheels project in 13 districts to increase practical knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects among students of classes 6 to 10 in the state. Initially, after successful operation of the program for six months in four districts of Champawat, Almora, Dehradun and Pauri, this project will be operated in all the districts.

Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi has directed that science laboratories in schools of rural and remote mountainous areas of the state should be strengthened through mobile science labs under Project Labs on Wheels and work should be done towards popularizing science and promoting science communication activities along with supplementing science and education. She has also directed to develop experiential skills in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics curriculum among students through practical demonstrations/models activities and demonstrations and to encourage practical education.
