Private doctors across the state will be on strike on Saturday in protest of the National Medical Commission Bill. Not accepting the recommendations of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) by the Central Government, Doctors will not see patients in OPD from 6 AM to 6 PM, nor will any conduct any checks in hospitals. While Emergency Services will be restored. Regional Secretary General of IMA Dr. D. D. Chaudhary said that the association meeting with the Central Government regarding the NMC bill was discussed. In order to keep the doctors in the committee, there was a demand for revision of bill on many other points including termination of exit exam for MBBS students. The government has not amended the NMC bill. A day-long nationwide strike is going on in protest against this. Private hospitals will be closed in all the places including Dehradun in the state. While Emergency Services will be restored. He ssid that if the bill is still passed, then the IMA will be in full swing. The doctors will not see patients in OPD. OPD, Pathology Lab, X-ray and Ultrasound Center will be closed. On the other hand, Dr. Suman Sethi, District President, IMA Dehradun informed that all private hospitals of Dehradun will be closed. Where will the city doctors meet? It is being decided now.
