Red alert for rain in Dehradun and Uttarkashi, snowfall on high peaks

A red alert for rain has been issued in the Dehradun and Uttarkashi districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has predicted several rounds of heavy to very heavy rain in these districts. on September 2 At the same time, there will be an orange alert for rain in the remaining districts.
According to meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal, all the districts with red and orange alerts are likely to continue rain in the coming days. This can cause a drop in temperature. On Monday also, several rounds of rain were seen from the mountains to the plains.
Snowfall on the high peaks of Chamoli district
In Chamoli district, there was light snowfall on the high peaks of Badrinath Dham as well as Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Nanda Ghunti, Rudranath late on Monday evening, due to which the weather has become cold. On Monday, the weather remained cold in the lower areas of the district as well. By evening, people took out their warm clothes as the cold increased. A significant drop has been recorded in the temperature of Chamoli district. Due to the weather alert in Uttarakhand, the Chardham and Hemkund Yatra has been suspended till September 5.
Rivers flowing near danger mark
Due to continuous heavy rains in the state, the rivers have become raging torrents. Yamuna river water has come on Syanchatti bridge in Uttarkashi. In such a situation, the bridge has been closed for traffic from the point of view of safety. The water level of Song, Banganga, Alaknanda, Mandakini, Yamuna has increased in Garhwal division. Which is above the warning level. Apart from this, the water level of Kosi and Gauriganga has also increased in Kumaon.
