Special Trains to start from May 10 to bring back Uttarakhand migrants

Special trains will run from May 10 to bring stranded migrants from other states to Uttarakhand. There are plans to bring 7200 migrants to Uttarakhand by half-dozen special trains. At the same time, the state government has stepped up its operation to bring 8700 migrants from Haryana. The drive to bring migrants from Garhwal and Kumaon region will continue till Saturday.

The campaign to bring the stranded migrants from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Telangana to Uttarakhand by special train will also begin from Sunda.  The state government has sent a proposal to bring the migrants by special train to the Ministry of Railways. By Friday, 1 lakh 75 thousand 880 expatriates had registered on the website started for homecoming of migrants. At the same time, 20 thousand people trapped in Uttarakhand have registered to go to their states.
