The monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha will begin from August 21 in Gairsain

The three-day session of the monsoon assembly session 2024 is going to start from Wednesday in Gairsain. Almost all the preparations for the session have been completed. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri along with ministers, MLAs and officers have camped in Gairsain.

Except Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, the rest of the ministers, MLAs and officers reached Gairsain by road. On reaching Gairsain, CM Dhami took stock of the arrangements at the CM residence and met the local people and listened to their problems.

Late in the evening, a meeting of the business advisory was held under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri, in which the action plan of the House was discussed. On the first day of the session on Wednesday, a condolence motion will be discussed on the demise of late Kedarnath MLA Shaila Rani Rawat and former Champawat MLA Kailash Gahtori.

The House will be adjourned after paying tribute to both the deceased leaders. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal said that along with the supplementary budget, several bills will be introduced in the House on Thursday.

Speaker appeals for co-operation in the functioning of the House

Party meeting Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri appealed to everyone to co-operate in the functioning of the House. She said that the MLAs of all parties should take the session seriously so that the questions of the MLAs can be answered by the government. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Agarwal, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, Congress MLA Pritam Singh, BSP’s Mohammad Shahzad as well as BJP MLA Khajan Das etc. were present in the meeting.

The Assembly Secretariat has made full preparations for the session. Officers were instructed to make all arrangements for water and electricity along with security, so that no problem arises for anyone. During the inspection, all the arrangements were found to be fine.
