Uttarakhand celebrates folk festival Harela, CM Dhami plants Rudraksh sapling

Uttarakhand’s folk festival Harela is being celebrated today (July 16). The state government has set a target of planting 5 lakh saplings across the state today on Harela festival. The target is to plant 3 lakh saplings in Garhwal division, while 2 lakh saplings will be planted in Kumaon division. Programs are being organized across the state regarding Harela festival.

CM Dhami planted Rudraksh sapling

In this sequence, the main program of the state was organized at Gorkha Military Inter College located near the Chief Minister’s residence. Here Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami planted a Rudraksh sapling. Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal and Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi also planted saplings along with the CM.

CM called planting and conservation of trees a priority

CM Dhami said that in the state of Uttarakhand also, along with nature conservation, planting fruit trees for animals, planting and conserving trees for the revival of the water sources of the state is the priority of the government.
