At the Uttarakhand Investment Festival-2025 organized in Rudrapur on Saturday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government celebrated the successful grounding of Rs 1 lakh crore in the form of investment after the Global Investor Summit held in Uttarakhand in December 2023. On this occasion, Home Minister Amit Shah praised the efforts of the state government and assured full support from the central government.

Addressing the Uttarakhand Investment Festival – 2025 organized at Sports Stadium Rudrapur, Home Minister Amit Shah said that whenever he comes to Uttarakhand, the land of four Dhams and Ganga Yamuna, he returns with a new consciousness. He said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has worked to take the whole world to spiritual heights. The rivers here meet the drinking water and irrigation needs of half of India. Referring to the closing ceremony of the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit held in December 2023, Home Minister Amit Shah said that he had then told Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami that the real feat of the state government would be to bring the MoUs of three lakh 56 thousand crores signed in the summit to the ground, but now he is happy that despite all the challenges, the team of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has brought an investment of one lakh crore on the ground today. This has cleared the way for creation of 81 thousand new jobs. Along with this, there is hope of creation of more than two and a half lakh new jobs through ancillary industries.

Transparency, intensity and foresight

Home Minister Amit Shah said that industries are also being set up in second and third tier cities of Uttarakhand. The state government has been successful in drawing a new blueprint of development with transparency in policy, intensity in implementation and foresight in vision, while establishing a balance between development and environment. He said that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government worked to create three new states in the form of Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Today, these three states are standing on their own feet. After the formation of the Modi government at the Center in 2014, a double engine government has been running continuously in Uttarakhand.

During this period, tap water reached 16 crore houses for the first time, toilets in 12 crore houses, free LPG cylinder facility was provided to 13 crore families. During the tenure of Modi government, electricity reached three crore houses for the first time, four crore people were given concrete houses.’

Developed Uttarakhand for Developed India

The Union Home Minister said that Modi ji has envisioned a developed India by 2047, but it is not possible to achieve the goal of developed India without a developed Uttarakhand. For the overall development of the country, development of the states of the North East including small states is also necessary. The government is paying special attention to this. He said that Uttarakhand is anyway the land of Jyotirlinga, Shaktipeeth, Badri, Panch Kedar and Panch Prayag, no one can stop the development of this state. To achieve this goal, the state government is working day and night with transparency. Work is being done on 360 degrees to ensure that tourists come to the state throughout the year. He said that Prime Minister Modi ji leaves no stone unturned in the development of Uttarakhand, that is why when some people opposed the all-weather road, the central government worked to extend the all-weather road to the Char Dhams by making a strong lobby in the Supreme Court. Similarly, the government is working on a ropeway project for Kedarnath along with Hemkund Sahib. Praising the efforts of the Pushkar Singh Dhami government, he said how many efforts were made to promote investment in this small state, including tourism, MSME, startup, film policy, which has created an environment for investment in the state.

  • Housing – 125 MoUs worth Rs. 41,947 crore (employment 5,172) grounded Rs. 10055 crore
  • Tourism – 437 MoUs worth Rs. 47,646 crore (employment 4694) grounded Rs. 8635 crore
  • Higher Education – 28 MoUs worth Rs. 6,675 crore (employment 4428) grounded Rs. 5116 crore
  • Others – 374 MoUs worth Rs. 79,518 crore Grounding in MOU, (employment 13898) Rs 3292 crore.
