Monsoon havoc continues in Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in many districts today (August 16). There is a possibility of rain from the mountains to the plains today. Rain is expected from Dehradun, Nainital to Almora. Dense clouds have been covering the sky since morning.

Heavy rains can be seen in most of the districts of Uttarakhand even today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in three districts of the state today.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in entire Uttarakhand today on Saturday 16th August. Today, an orange alert has been issued predicting heavy to very heavy rains in Dehradun, Bageshwar and Nainital districts of the state. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Champawat and Pauri, where moderate to heavy rains are likely with strong thunder and lightning. The IMD has warned that strong winds, lightning and heavy rains may be seen at many places in the state today. In such a situation, there is a possibility of landslides in hilly areas and rapid increase in the water level of rivers and streams, while waterlogging may occur in the plains.
