Since the departure of monsoon, the weather in the state has remained dry and bright sunshine is shining throughout the day in most areas. However, cold is now being felt in the morning and evening.
The morning chill has started increasing in the mountainous regions and the minimum temperature in the plains is continuously decreasing. The mercury in Doon has reached 18 degrees Celsius at night. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of further drop in mercury in the next few days. From the mountain to the plains, the morning and evening temperature may decrease by up to two degrees Celsius.
Further drop in mercury is expected after October 15
The weather has remained dry across the state since the beginning of October. However, on Tuesday, there were spells of rain in many districts including Dehradun. It rained intermittently for about half an hour. Since then, the weather has again remained dry.
