Warning of heavy rain in Uttarakhand today, orange alert issued for 3 districts including Dehradun

In Uttarakhand, the series of showers continues amidst the interaction of sunshine and clouds.

The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts indicating the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of the state for the next three days from Monday, July 27.

People have been advised to remain alert regarding excessive rainfall, especially in Dehradun, Nainital and Bageshwar districts.

On Sunday, the humidity increased in Dehradun and surrounding areas due to light sunshine amidst partly cloudy sky in the morning.

However, the weather became pleasant due to heavy rain in the evening. At the same time, heavy rain was recorded at many places in the hilly areas. The temperature in most areas also remains normal or slightly above.

According to the Meteorological Centre, orange alert has been issued for Dehradun, Nainital and Bageshwar districts on Monday.

A warning has also been issued regarding thunder, lightning and heavy to extremely heavy rain in these districts.

Apart from this, yellow alert has been issued for Tehri, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh districts.

There is a possibility of heavy rain, thunder and heavy rain at isolated places in these areas. There is a possibility of lightning and rain with thunder in Haridwar district also.

In view of the possibility of landslides, rock falls and sudden rise in the water level of rivers and streams in the mountainous areas, the Meteorological Department has appealed to avoid unnecessary travel and follow the advisory of the administration.
