Women’s UPL Season 2: Tehri Queens emerge as the winners

Tehri Queens defeated Haridwar Storm by seven wickets in the final of the Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League (W-UPL 2025) to win their first title. Megha Saini’s brilliant unbeaten half-century of 67 runs played a key role in Tehri Queens’ victory in this match played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

Haridwar Storm’s innings

Electing to bat after losing the toss, Haridwar Storm got off to a steady start. Openers Jyoti Giri (41) and Deepika Chand (11) put on a 49-run partnership for the first wicket. However, after Deepika was dismissed by Sabhya, the Tehri Queens bowlers made a strong comeback,restricting their opponents to 99 runs in their quota of 20 overs.

Chasing a target of 100 runs, Tehri Queens easily achieved the target in 11.5 overs, losing only three wickets. Megha Saini’s unbeaten 67 off 42 balls, studded with eight fours and three sixes, was the difference between the two sides. Aarti Bhandari (7), Neelam Bhardwaj (13), Ankita Bisht (9), and Yashika Bauthiyal (1) supported her. Safina Aziz and Kalpana Verma each took one wicket for Haridwar Storm.

UPL men’s matches to begin Saturday

Following the conclusion of the women’s competition in UPL Season 2, the men’s matches will begin Saturday. Three matches will be played on the opening day of UPL Season 2 on Saturday. The first match will be between USN Indians and Dehradun Warriors. The second match will be played between Tehri Titans and Rishikesh Falcons. The third match will be played between Haridwar Spring Elmas and Pithoragarh Hurricanes.
