A flash flood after cloudburst occurred in Dharali village of Uttarkashi district, there was a surge in water level in Kheerganga. Many people are reported to be buried under the debris. As soon as the flood of water came towards the village, people started screaming. Water and debris have entered many hotels. Dharali market has been completely destroyed. Many hotels and shops have been destroyed. Army Harshil/Police/SDRF team have left for Bhatwadi.
Heavy rains have caused havoc in Uttarakhand. Director of Meteorological Center Rohit Thapliyal said, there is a possibility of heavy rains across the state till August 10. There are chances of heavy rains especially in the mountainous areas. At the same time, due to rain, schools were closed in Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri and Haridwar districts on Tuesday also due to safety.
CM Dhami expressed grief
CM Dhami expressed deep sorrow over the heavy loss caused by cloudburst in Dharali Uttarkashi area. He said that SDRF, NDRF, district administration and other related teams are engaged on war footing for relief and rescue operations.
