Delhi remains world’s most polluted capital: IQ Air Report

India has 11 of the 20 most polluted cities in the world. Byrnihat in Meghalaya is at the top. At the same time, Delhi is at the top in the category of most polluted capital. This ranking has been revealed in the IQ Air Report 2024. In the report, India has been ranked fifth among the most polluted countries in the world.
In 2023, we were at the third position. That is, there has been some improvement in pollution in India from before. The report states that in 2024, India saw a 7 percent decline in the amount of PM2.5.
In 2024, it was an average of 50.6 micrograms per cubic meter, while in 2023 it was 54.4 micrograms per cubic meter. Still, six of the 10 most polluted cities in the world are in India. Pollution levels were consistently recorded high in Delhi. The annual average PM2.5 amount here was 91.6 micrograms per cubic meter.
Which is slightly less than the figure of 92.7 micrograms per cubic meter in 2023. While in 2023 it will be 54.4 micrograms per cubic meter.
