India and US strengthen ties with trade and defense deals

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the US on his two-day official visit. PM Modi met US President Donald Trump on Thursday on this important visit and discussed many important issues. This meeting was very positive for both the countries. During this meeting, trade and defense between India and America as well as the issue of immigrants were also discussed. Addressing the press conference, PM Modi said, “The people of India are moving towards a developed India 2047.”

India-US trade target to double trade

Economic cooperation was at the center in this historic meeting of the two countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump agreed on the ambitious goal of doubling the bilateral trade of India and America to $ 500 billion by 2030.Currently, America is India’s largest trading partner, with a trade of $ 129.2 billion in 2024. America’s goal is to become India’s top supplier.

Talking about the importance of this partnership between the two countries, Trump said, “We have reached an important agreement on energy which will reestablish America as a major supplier of oil and gas to India.” He emphasized that America’s goal is to become India’s top supplier, ensuring energy security for both countries.

America will give F35 fighter planes to India

In another big announcement, Donald Trump said that America will increase its military sales to India by billions of dollars and will provide F35 fighter planes to India. Trump said, “India is reforming its laws to welcome American nuclear technology in the Indian market, which is at the highest level. This will provide safe, clean and cheap electricity to millions of Indians.”
