Following the removal of U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, speculation has intensified regarding the potential ousting of several other high-ranking officials within the Trump administration.
On Thursday, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered Army Chief General Randy George to retire immediately. Several individuals privy to the White House’s plans revealed that discussions are underway regarding the removal of additional officials.
Throughout his second term, Trump had largely refrained from removing senior officials. He believed that doing so would amount to capitulating to the Democrats and the media. Until recently—specifically prior to the midterm elections—there was a standing directive that no Cabinet official would be removed; however, the situation has shifted as reportedly Trump’s popularity has waned in the aftermath of the conflict with Iran.
