Several people believed injured after bridge collapses in Morbi area of Gujarat

There is news of a cable bridge collapsing over the Machhu river in Morbi, Gujarat. It has been told that about 400 people were on the bridge at the time when the bridge broke down. According to the news agencies, over 30 people have died in this accident. At the same time, dozens are injured. PM Modi has also instructed the officials to start relief and rescue work immediately regarding the incident. He spoke to Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel in this regard and asked him to keep a watch on the incident.

PM Modi has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident. At the same time, 50 thousand rupees will be given to the injured. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has said that he is monitoring the incident. Ambulances have been dispatched immediately. He said that he is constantly in touch with the officials. He has also announced an assistance of Rs 4 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement also came on the accident. They said. “Extremely saddened by the accident in Morbi. I have spoken to Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi and other officials in this regard. Local administration is engaged in relief work with full readiness, NDRF is also reaching the spot soon. Administration has been directed to provide immediate treatment to the injured.”

This bridge in Morbi was recently reopened to the public after repairs. However, despite repairs, the bridge collapsed due to the weight of the crowd that had gathered here. It has been told that some people have been injured, who have been taken to the hospital.
