Weather department issues yellow alert rain forecast for Uttarakhand

The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain, thunder at many places and some areas of the plains with heavy showers in the hilly districts of the state on Saturday. Whereas on July 5, once again a yellow alert of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for four districts.

The Meteorological Department has withdrawn the yellow alert issued earlier for Saturday. On 3 and 4 July, the sequence of rains has also been predicted to continue in the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Nainital, Dehradun, Bageshwar districts on July 5. Whereas Tehri, Pauri, Champawat, Pithoragarh districts may receive heavy rains at some places.

On Friday, 18.5 mm of rain was recorded in Jakhanidhar, 13 mm in Sahaspur, 13 mm in Premnagar, 10.5 mm in Bhikiyasain. Apart from this, rain was recorded in places like Jakholi, Dunda, Chinyalisaur, Pithoragarh, Berinag, Chakrata, Garud, Dhumkot, Kanalichina, Lakhamandal, Lansdowne etc.

In Dehradun also, the sky will be partly to generally cloudy on Saturday. One or two spells of rain are likely. The maximum temperature is expected to be 33 and the minimum temperature is 24 degree Celsius. On Friday, the maximum temperature in Doon was 31.1 degree Celsius. Which was 1 less than normal, with a minimum temperature of 23.3 degrees Celsius. The weather remained pleasant throughout the day due to drizzling rain in the morning in Doon. The rain-like weather in Doon will remain the same till July 7.
