Congress fields boxer Vijender Singh from south Delhi

Congress has declared Olympic medalist boxer Vijender Singh as their candidate from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat. According to the statement issued by party, Vijender will be their candidate from South Delhi. This seat will be contested by Vijender against Ramesh Bidhudi of BJP and Raghav Chadha from Aam Aadmi Party. Vijender won the bronze medal for the country in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. With the announcement of their candidacy, the Congress has declared candidates in seven seats of Delhi.

According to sources Boxer Vijendra has resigned from the DSP post. Congress has given tickets to J P Agarwal from Chandni Chowk, Sheila Dikshit from North East Delhi, Arvinder Singh Lovely from East Delhi, Ajay Makan from New Delhi, Rajesh Lilothia from North Western Delhi and Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi. At the same time, when Vijendra was asked about this, he said that the matter is under-process now. Nothing can be said about this now.
