Omicron threat: random sampling to begin in Uttarakhand

After the knock of Omicron, the new variant of Corona in the country, the Uttarakhand government has started preparations to deal with it. At present, no restrictions have been imposed on those coming from outside the state for those with both doses of anti-corona vaccine, but random sampling has been started at the borders. It is necessary that along with the sampling of tourists returning after international travel, arrangements have been made to quarantine them. In Uttarakhand, a certificate of applying both doses of vaccine on the international border with Nepal has been made mandatory.

No case of Omicron, a new form of corona virus, has been reported in the state so far, but in spite of this, the government is engaged in full preparations from its level. Recently, the government has also issued a guideline for this. In this, all the district magistrates have been asked to conduct random sampling at airports, railway stations, border check posts, tourist places and crowded places in the state and provide medical facilities to the people found infected under the corona protocol.

In the SOP, instructions have been given for Covid sampling in all colleges, medical and nursing colleges, and educational institutions of the state. All public places have been asked to strictly follow safe physical distancing, wearing of masks and sanitisation. In this sequence, random sampling is being done in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts. There is also some strictness in Nainital. Here the Health Department team is giving entry to the city only after the vaccination certificate or negative report of RTPCR from tourists.
