Uttarakhand cabinet meeting December 20: Know key decisions

The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami concluded on Tuesday in the auditorium of Vishwakarma Bhavan located at the state secretariat. A total of 20 proposals came in the meeting. During this, like Himachal, the cabinet approved the new hydro power policy of Uttarakhand. Under the hydro policy, it was decided that when the project is commissioned, the project will be considered as started. Secretary Shailesh Bagoli informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting.

He informed that it has been decided to fill 90 percent posts in the secretariat administration through direct recruitment. It has been decided that now permission for parole will be available only from the DM in the state, earlier it was allowed only from the level of the commissioner. Parole will be arranged for a maximum period of 12 months by amending its rules. With the restructuring of PWD structure, it was decided to transfer 5 roads of SIDCUL to PWD. At the same time, the parking policy in Uttarakhand was also approved by the cabinet.

These decisions were also taken in the cabinet meeting

  • 10,000 youths are taking training in 91 ITIs in the state. Of these, 20 institutions will be upgraded on the Karnataka model.
  • Transport – 100 percent exemption will be given in motor vehicle tax in city bus.
  • Permit tax relief for buses in hills has been increased from 50 to 75%.
  • There will be an amendment in the enforcement staff service rules of the transport department. 100% posts of enforcement constable will be filled by direct recruitment.
  • State Parking Rules were promulgated. The cabinet has approved this policy.
  • Master plan will also be made for Mahasu Devta of Dehradun district and Jageshwar Dham of Almora.
  • Free textbooks will be given to students up to class 12 in government and aided colleges.
