Soldier from Uttarakhand martyred in J&K
In an unfortunate news a soldier hailing from Uttarakhand was martyred during an encounter with terrorists in Rajori, Jammu and Kashmir. While another jawan has been injured. The security forces have succeeded in killing a terrorist.
According to the information, on the information of the presence of terrorists, a search operation was started in the entire area on Wednesday. At around 9 am on Thursday, a joint team of Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police SOG and CRPF was passing through a narrow road in search of terrorists, at the same time the terrorists ambushed at the height, in which Subedar Ram Singh of Uttarakhand (46 years) and another jawan was injured.
Both the injured were immediately rushed to the Army Health Sub Center, where the Subedar succumbed to his injuries. While the injured Army jawan was referred to the Command Hospital in Udhampur. After this, more army and police personnel were sent to the spot. Shaheed Subedar Ram Singh was a resident of the village of Bajwar in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Army spokesman Colonel Devendra Anand said that even after being injured, Subedar Ram retaliated in which one terrorist was killed.
SDM Sadar SS Rana in Pauri told that Subedar Ram Singh Bhandari of 16 Garhwal Rifles was about to retire in February 2022. The family of the martyr lives in Meerut. He told that currently no information has been available about where the martyr’s funeral will be held.
