Preparations underway to send the first batch of devotees for Adi Kailas Yatra on May 31
In view of the enthusiasm of the devotees, Adi Kailash Yatra, run by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam, will start from May 31, not the first week of June. Preparations are being made to send the first batch of devotees on behalf of Trip to Temples, Divine Mantra Private Limited, which are responsible for registration and transportation for the journey.
The booking of the crew for the Adi Kailas Yatra till June 24 has been completed. So far, four hundred and fifty devotees have registered for Adi Kailas, which is a record till now. Till now, maximum 424 pilgrims had gone to Adi Kailas in the corporation operated journey in 2017.
Adi Kailas Yatra is happening since 1990
KMVN is operating Adi Kailas Yatra since 1990. Prior to this, due to lack of road, about 150 km had to be traveled on foot in the high Himalayan regions of Pithoragarh district. Now with the efforts of the Central and State Government, NH construction is going on till Nabhidhang and Jeolikong. Now this journey will be done by vehicle without walking on foot.
