Delhi government allows entry of buses from other states amidst night curfew

The entry of roadways buses during the night curfew in Delhi is exempted. The Delhi government has not imposed any restriction on the entry of roadways buses coming from other states in the guidelines for night curfew. Passengers who get down at Delhi by bus will be able to go to their destination, provided they have to show the journey ticket. Like passengers of buses, passengers coming by train and plane are also allowed to travel to the destination by showing tickets.

There was confusion over the entry of roadways buses in Delhi from 10 pm on Tuesday night due to the applicable night curfew. Due to this, the schedule of 250 buses of Uttarakhand Roadways had changed, which reach Delhi between 10 pm and 5 am. On finding no guideline from Delhi, the Roadways Headquarters had sent a message to all the drivers to enter Delhi before ten o’clock in the night or after five o’clock in the morning. Roadways headquarters said that the situation would be clear on Wednesday when the buses that went to Delhi would return.

When the buses returned on Wednesday, it was found that there is no restriction on roadways buses in the night curfew. Buses can enter Delhi ISBT. Apart from this, there is no restriction on buses running from ISBT after 10 pm. The condition has been laid that the passengers have to show the ticket for the travel time between 10 pm and 5 am in the restricted time. Roadways Headquarters has breathed a sigh of relief from not stopping the entry into Delhi, but the problem has come up with the number of passengers.

The number of passengers in buses has fallen drastically following the strictures of governments regarding the Covid infection. The situation is that in the buses going to Delhi, on Wednesday also the average of the passengers was ten to twelve per bus. After the corona lockdown, the roadways have suffered a major economic setback due to the fall of passengers.
