Maruti Suzuki Dzire becomes India’s number 1 selling compact sedan

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire continues to flourish in the compact sedan segment. In competition many sedan cars were launched other auto companies. But still Dzire remains the first choice of the people.

In fact, this car of Maruti Suzuki has become the best selling compact sedan car in the country, meeting the expectations of the customers. The Desire car was the country’s best-selling car in the first eight months of the financial year 2019-20. According to Maruti Suzuki, 1.2 lakh units of Dzire car were sold between April and November 2019.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is gradually strengthening its grip. Recently, this car has crossed the total sales figure of 20 lakh units. The company launched the third generation of Dzire on 16 May 2017.

The market share of this model alone has gone up to 60 per cent in the compact sedan car segment, with sales of 1.2 lakh units between April and November 2019. In the financial year 2018-19, 2.5 lakh units of Dzire were sold.

Shashank Srivastava, executive director (marketing and sales), Maruti Suzuki India, says that for the past several years, the Dzire has carved a niche for itself in compact sedan cars.

According to the company, today there are about 70 percent customers who had already decided to buy the Dzire. Half of the Dzire customers are those who liked the Dzire as the first car.

According to the information given on the company’s website, the initial Delhi Ex-showroom price of the Dzire is Rs 5,82,613, while the top variant is priced at Rs 9,52,622. The competition in the market is from Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.

The petrol engine Dzire gives a mileage of 21.21 km per liter, while the diesel engine Dzire gives a mileage of 28.40 km per liter. Its length is 3995 mm, width is 1735 mm. Its wheelbase is 2459 mm.

The Maruti Dzire was first launched in 2008. After this, in 2012, the company launched the second generation Desire market. In 2017, Maruti launched the third generation Dzire, ie the current model.

Maruti Dzire comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. It has a 1197 cc, 4 cylinder engine that gives a maximum power of 61 kW at 6000 rpm and generates a peak torque of 113 Nm at 4200 rpm. It has a capacity of 37 liters of fuel tank. The 5 seater Desire weighs 1315 kg.

The petrol engine is 1.2-liter, while the diesel engine is 1.3-liter. 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options are available with both engines. It has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. In terms of safety, it has two airbags.
