Nainital, Mussoorie packed with tourists ahead of Christmas 2023
Before Christmas and New Year, the tourist places of Uttarakhand are buzzing with tourists. Tourists from regions like Ghaziabad, Meerut, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc. are reaching Uttarakhand to celebrate Christmas.
Monday Christmas holiday has made the weekend special for the tourists. Due to huge tourist inflow, jam was seen on the roads of the state on Saturday.
From Mussoorie to Chakrata, Nainital and Rishikesh are packed with tourists. At the same time, hotels and resorts have also become full. On the other hand, due to the arrival of large number of tourists, traffic jam situation also persists. From morning to evening, vehicles were seen crawling on the roads.
Christmas preparations have been completed in Mussoorie. Most of the hotels in the city have been booked in advance for Christmas. At the same time, 80 percent of the hotels in the city are packed on weekends and 50 percent for Christmas. Due to the arrival of large number of tourists in the city, there is traffic jam at the intersections. The police also had to work hard to control the situation.
There is a gathering of tourists in the tourist places of Nainital also. Due to increasing pressure of tourist vehicles, traffic in the city was affected several times throughout the day. Due to continuous entry of vehicles in the city, long queues of vehicles were seen on Tallital, Mallital and Mall Road and the vehicles crawled. Tourists without hotel booking are being stopped in temporary parking spaces from 10 am onwards.
A large number of tourists started reaching Chakrata from Saturday itself to celebrate the weekend and Christmas. Most of the hotels, resorts, home stays and cottages here are full.
