Chardham Yatra to begin in Uttarakhand after June 8

After being allowed to open tourism and religious activities in Uttarakhand during Unlock-1, the state government has started preparing to start the Chardham Yatra. After June 8, the government will start the Chardham Yatra in limited numbers.

Government spokesman and cabinet minister Madan Kaushik said that Chardham Yatra will be started in the state from June 8. But the journey will start with a limited number. After getting permission to operate buses from other states, Chardham Yatra will be opened for tourists and pilgrims from other states.

Kaushik said that the state government is in talks with several states for operating buses. It will be decided to operate the buses only after mutual consent of both the states.Due to the Corona pandemic, the operation of the yatra is completely stopped. With the commencement of Chardham Yatra, businessmen associated with the tourism industry will get relief.

According to the statement issued, the Chardham Yatra will be started. But the journey will start with a limited number. After getting permission to operate buses from other states, Chardham Yatra will be opened for tourists and pilgrims from other states.

The portals of Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand were opened in the early hours of May 15 after a long holiday. But due to the lockdown, pilgrims were not present in Badrinath on this occasion. Only the priests and administration officials were present. Whereas after the opening of the kapat last year, around 10,000 devotees visited the temple.
