Everyone aged above 18 eligible to be vaccinated in third phase from May 1 onwards

The central government is going to start the third phase of corona vaccination amidst the corona pandemic spreading in the country. According to the government, the third phase of vaccination will start from May 1. In this, people of all ages above 18 years will be vaccinated with Corona. In a meeting with doctors today, PM Modi said that for the last one year, the government is trying its best to give vaccine doses to as many people as possible in the country. Therefore, the government is announcing that now all people above 18 years of age should be given the Corona vaccine from May 1.

90 crore people will be able to get the vaccine in the third phase

In the third phase of the corona virus vaccination campaign, about 90 crore people will be vaccinated. States will also be allowed to purchase and distribute vaccines. Vaccine manufacturers will be able to give 50 percent of the vaccine to the states. States will be able to purchase vaccines directly from companies.

Vaccination started in the country from January 16

The corona vaccination was started in the country from 16 January. So far, more than twelve crore people in the country have been vaccinated with the corona vaccine. Until now, the government had only allowed vaccination for frontline workers and those above 45.

Significantly, in the country, vaccination work is also progressing rapidly in the country amid new cases of increasing corona. According to the Union Health Ministry, till April 18, 12 lakh 38 thousand people have been vaccinated in the country. According to the report, 59.5 percent of the total doses given so far in the country have been given in eight states. It is believed that more than one crore corona vaccine doses have been given in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, including the first and second doses.
