Launching of country’s first private rocket, Skyroot Aerospace’s mission ‘Prarambh’

The country’s first private rocket Vikram-S was launched today from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. This developed rocket was launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on behalf of space startup Skyroot Aerospace. This rocket took off at 11:30 am. Earlier this rocket was to be launched on 15th November, but due to bad weather it was launched today.

This first mission of Skyroot Aerospace named ‘Prarambh’ carries three consumer payloads. The mission is considered an important milestone for Skyroot, as it will help validate 80 percent of the technologies that will be used in the Vikram-1 orbital vehicle, which is planned for launch next year.

Many companies are making satellites and rockets

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Chairman S Somnath said that 100 start-ups have tied up with ISRO to work in the field of space technology and innovation. Somnath was speaking on the topic R&D – Innovation for Global Impact at Bangalore Tech Summit-2022 on Thursday.

During this, he told that out of 100, there are about 10 such companies, which are engaged in developing satellites and rockets. During this, while giving information about Chandrayaan III, he told that it will be launched soon. In response to a question, he said that there are many missions on which ISRO and the American space agency NASA are working together.

Discussing the use of space technology in various spheres of life, he said, the technologies and innovations that are done for space missions are also used in everyday life in many ways. Many start-ups are specifically working on this aspect. Along with this, he said that ISRO is an important partner in the smart city projects and smart manufacturing processes of the Government of India.
