Uttarakhand corona update: 38 new cases reported on 29 December

On Wednesday, 38 new corona patients were found in Uttarakhand and one infected died. 42 patients were cured after treatment, after which the number of active patients in the state has now come down to 222. According to the bulletin of the Health Department, on Wednesday, 21 new patients have been found in Dehradun, 6 in Nainital, 5 in Pauri, 3 in Haridwar, 1 in Bageshwar and 2 in US Nagar district. Reports of more than 20 thousand patients came from labs across the state.

Around 18 thousand samples have been sent for examination. The infection rate in the state is 0.19 percent and the recovery rate of patients is near 95 percent. A corona infected patient undergoing treatment at Doon Hospital died on Wednesday. With this, the total number of deaths in the state has gone up to 7417. Due to the increasing number of patients in the capital Dehradun, the number of active patients has also started increasing.

HC seeks answers from election commission

The Uttarakhand High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the Election Commission of India (ECI) seeking its response. In the petition filed in the court, there has been a demand to postpone the upcoming assembly elections in the state in view of the threat of Omicron.

This petition has been filed in the High Court on behalf of Sachchidanand Dabral. The hearing took place on Wednesday. On which someone has sought an answer from the Election Commission.
