Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders lost 7 wickets in 20 overs and scored 191 runs and gave Kings XI Punjab a target of 192 runs to win. In reply, Kings XI Punjab scored 96 runs without any loss in 8.2 overs. After this rain interrupted the match which had to be stopped in the middle. After rain, Punjab got a revised target of 125 runs in 13 overs.
