All operations from Dublin Airport temporarily suspended as it deals with a fire in a hangar.
Four fire engines are currently en-route from Finglas, Kilbarrack, Balbriggan and Swords stations, while the fire crew based at the airport is also attending.
A ladder unit and environmental foam unit have also been dispatched by Dublin Fire Brigade, and an incident command unit is due to attend the scene. There are reports that an aircraft is in the hangar, however there are no reports of any injuries and no ambulance has been sent to the airport. The airport says the blaze is in a hangar in a restricted area, which is separate from the passenger facilities.
According to Dublin Fire Brigade department, the alarm was raised at 7:15 A.M local time. Dublin Fire Brigade and Dublin Airport fire crew are attending the scene, with four pumps, environmental unit and an incident commander present.
The airport said in a statement: “Flight operations have been temporarily suspended this morning, as fire crews at Dublin Airport are currently dealing with a fire in one of the hangars at the airport”.
“Passengers are advised to check with their airline or consult their airline website for the latest flight information”.
