Year Ender: Sensex rises 18 percent; Nifty rises 19 percent in 2023

While 2023 as a whole was stupendous for the Indian stock market, there was a decline in the stock market today i.e. Friday (29 December), the last trading day of the year. Sensex closed at 72,240 with a fall of about 170 points. At the same time, Nifty also fell by 47 points, it closed at the level of 21,731. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 saw a decline and 13 saw a rise.

This year, Sensex has risen 18.10% and Nifty has risen 19.42%. Tata Motors was the biggest rising stock on both the indices. Tata Motors has almost doubled investors’ money this year. On January 2, this share was worth Rs 394, which has now increased to Rs 779. Whereas midcap and small cap indices have increased by about 45%.

Shares of Tata Motors today closed at Rs 779.40 with a rise of 3.38%. During trading it made an all-time high of Rs 802.90. At the same time, Vodafone Idea (VI) shares also rose by more than 20% today. It closed at Rs 16 with a rise of 20.75%. During trading, VI shares made an all-time high of Rs 16.25.

Yesterday the market made an all time high

Earlier yesterday i.e. Thursday (December 28) a new all-time high was made. During trading, Sensex touched the level of 72,484 and Nifty touched the level of 21,801. However, after this there was a slight decline and the Sensex closed at the level of 72,410 with a gain of 371 points.
