Uttarakhand takes medal tally to 24 in ongoing National School Games

The state’s players have performed better in the 65th National School Sports Competition. The players have won three medals in taekwondo and five in boxing. The players have so far won six gold medals in the entire competition. Apart from this, eight silver and 10 bronze medals have also come in the bag of Uttarakhand.

According to the Sports Coordinators Nand Kishore Nautiyal and Anand Chauhan in the Directorate of Education, currently the 65th National School Sports Competition is going on in different cities of the country. In which the performance of the state players has been better so far. Under the competition, players have won one gold and three bronze medals in the Boxing Under 19 boys and girls category held in Delhi.

In Taekwondo held in Guwahati, players won one silver and two bronze in under-19 boys and girls category, one silver in under-17 boys and boys in Gujarat, one gold and two silver in under-14 and under-17 boys and girls in athletics held in Punjab, one gold, two silver in athletics under 19 boys and girls category.

Two gold, three bronze in taekwondo under 17 boys and girls category held in Madhya Pradesh, one gold, one silver and one bronze in taekwondo under 14 boys and girls held in Rajasthan, volleyball under 14 boys section held in Andhra Pradesh  The Uttarakhand team finished second nationally and won a silver medal. According to the sports coordinator, Uttarakhand has so far won 24 medals at the current national level.
