Opportunity for Entrepreneurs: Government invites applications to open Jan Aushadi center

The Central Government is giving an opportunity to open Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra in 26 states and union territories. Online applications are invited for this. A total of 3579 blocks of 406 districts will come under the ambit of this new application.

According to the statement issued by the government, applications have been sought from individuals, unemployed pharmacists, government nominated institutions, NGOs, trusts, societies etc. to open Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra. These applications are invited through an online process.

How to open Jan Aushadi Kendra?

Interested applicants can apply online by visiting PMBI website janaushadhi.gov.in. Eligible applicants will be given in-principle approval for obtaining drug license in the name of PMBJP on “first come first come” basis.

This is the target of the government

The government has set a target to increase the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to 10000 by March 2024. All 739 districts of the country have been included in this scheme under the ambit of the scheme. Residents of small towns and block headquarters can also now avail the opportunity of opening Jan Aushadhi Kendras.

The scheme also provides subsidies for various categories including women, SC/ST, hill districts, island districts and northeastern states. This will make it easier for people to reach affordable medicine in every nook and corner of the country. The detailed terms and conditions of the scheme can be seen at janaushadhi.gov.in.
