Mysterious blue light seen across many cities in South Western US
A bizarre light in the sky over the south western coast of the United States of America sent social media into a frenzy with speculation of a UFO encounter.
Stunned witnesses caught the spectacular light show on camera as the bright white orb with blue tail flashed across the night sky. Hundreds of residents reported seeing the bright phenomenon in Anaheim, Temecula, Los Angeles, California and Santa Monica.
US gov claims light to be effect of missile
The streaking light, which has also been described as some as green, was the result of a rocket fired from a submarine, according to several reports. The US Navy said the missile was part of a planned test flight but that it was not armed, according to CBS Los Angeles. Accordong to the NASASpaceFlight Twitter, it was a Trident II missile test-fired by the sub USS Kentucky.
