School reopening: Center consults with states for preparing roadmap

Preparations have started to reopen schools, colleges and other educational institutions across the country, which are closed due to fear of Corona, as soon as the pace of infection stops. However, from when they have to be opened, it is for the states to decide. But before this, some important guidelines can be given by the Central Government regarding the safety of the students. At present, its preparation has started. In this episode, the Tamil Nadu government has announced the re-opening of physical classes for students of classes 1 to 12 from February 1.

Center sought information about vaccination of children

Information about the vaccination of students above 15 years of age has been sought from all the states. With the slowing down of the pace of corona infection, the way markets and shops have opened in all the states, there is a huge pressure to open schools and other educational institutions as well. Especially the children who are in class 10th and 12th, there is a constant demand from their parents to open schools. However, even after this, most states are hesitant to open schools.

Students of class X and XII can be called in schools first

According to sources associated with the Ministry of Education, many states have also been contacted regarding this. Along with this, on the lines of the previous waves of Corona, this time there has been a demand to issue guidelines regarding opening of schools including other educational institutions like coaching etc. Only after that the ministry has started work in this direction. In the indications that are being received at the moment, only children from class IX to XII will be called to school. Rest of the children will be decided after the next few months and the situation. At the same time, coaching institutes will also be allowed to open with a limited number.

The central government can issue necessary guidelines regarding this

According to senior officials of the Ministry of Education, in the coming days, there are examinations like JEE Main and NEET including the board exams. For which schools will have to be opened. Prior to this, practical examinations of class X and XII will also be held. In which it will be necessary to call the students.  According to experts associated with health ministry, the number of people of school age group among corona infected is very less. It is worth noting that due to the closure of schools and colleges due to the fear of corona infection, the education of children is being done online, but they are deprived of education like class rooms. Most of the children are not able to perform well in this online education.
