12 injured in clash in UP’s Muzaffarnagar

At least 12 people, including two women, were injured in a clash that broke out between two groups at Katka village here allegedly over a money-related dispute, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday when two men, identified as Sanjay and Rafeeq, were confronted over a money dispute, which turned violent as supporters of both joined and indulged in brickbatting as well, Superintendent of Police Rakesh, Crime, Rakesh Jolly said.

14 people have been arrested in connection with violence, Jolly added.

Police rushed to the spot and soon brought the situation under control, the SP said, adding the injured have been admitted to a hospital and security enhanced in the area.
