Stefanos Tsitsipas wins Monte Carlo Masters 2022

Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas has won the Monte Carlo Masters title. He defeated unseeded Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in consecutive sets in the final match. He won 6-3, 7-6. Due to the Corona pandemic, this tournament was not held in 2020 and in 2021 this tournament was played without spectators. After a long time, the audience has returned here.

Tsitsipas easily won the first set 6-3. Fokina fought hard in the second set but Tsitsipas won it 7-6 to win the title. This was Fokina’s first ATP final after defeating Novak Djokovic in the second round.

Tsitsipas scored 72 points in this match while Fokina scored 57 points. Tsitsipas also served 3 aces while Fokina installed only one ace. Tsitsipas, who lost to Djokovic in the French Open final last year, became the first champion since Rafael Nadal in 2018 to retain the Monte Carlo title.
